Join us in learning from artist Kurt Caddy during this Kintsugi workshop. Kintsugi is a 14th-century Japanese art form that involves mending broken ceramic vessels with gold. Rather than discarding a broken tea bowl, the bowl is repaired, and the “gold” filled cracks become part of its unique history. A kintsugi bowl is often considered more valuable than one that has never been broken.
The kintsugi workshop will teach participants the techniques needed to repair a bowl and introduce them to the beautiful spiritual truths found within kintsugi. We will share the creative experience of finding beauty in brokenness.
Fee: $60 (includes a hand-thrown Japanese tea bowl, all materials, tools, and instruction)
